Cracking the CWSP – How I Prepared

After two intense days of CWSP training, it was time to actually pass the thing. Between commutes, football practice sidelines, and a tip from a friend about a tool I “definitely already knew about” — I found a way to make it work. Exam day had its usual rituals: eggs, bacon, coffee, and a suspiciously clean desk. Sixty questions. Ninety minutes. And then… well, you’ll have to read on.

The Lightweight Toolkit

As a wireless engineer, I carry a toolkit. Some tools are heavy — spectrum analysers, protocol capture software, survey platforms. They’re serious, expensive, and absolutely worth it. But this post isn’t about those. This post is about the tools that live on my phone, snap to the back of it, or quietly run in the background — lightweight by design, but anything but basic.

The Next Hurdle: CWSP

The next hurdle after the CWAP is the CWSP. As I mentioned in my previous post, the CWSP is a deep dive into the security side of Wi-Fi. I know security is absolutely necessary — it’s a fact of life in any network — but personally, it’s the chapter that speaks to me the least. Hence the word “hurdle”. 😄
